Peace Garden & Peace Cranes
The goal of the 2011 Peace Garden Program was to strengthen children's capacity for peace making in their communities. Throughout the course of the program, Club member participants got to experience and gain knowledge on human and environmental interdependence, deepen their knowledge through discussion, fold origami peace cranes and even create, grow, and utilize an actual community garden. A local muralist also contributed to the program by painting several murals in the courtyard at the Club of the Peace Program participants. Two Peace Poles were added to the courtyard and the garden representing global peace with the wording "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in four different languages of the children's choosing.
