Good Character & Citizenship
These programs help youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills to participate in the democratic process. Program participants also develop leadership skills and gain opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.
Torch Club
Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs. The program is a powerful vehicle through which Club or Youth Center staff can help meet the special needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to work together to plan and implement activities in four areas: Education, Health and Fitness, Service to Club and Community, and Social Recreation. Through service activities, Torch Club members identify Club and community needs and give back to their communities. These activities provide opportunities for youth to practice communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
Youth for Unity
Youth for Unity consists of a comprehensive, broad-based set of programmatic interventions that build the capacity of local Clubs to help their Club members appreciate themselves as unique and special individuals, understand our society’s diversity, recognize bias and unfairness and take personal leadership in confronting bias.
